Down Goes Frazier!
Week 3 riddled with injuries and disappointment. Found out more regarding current player rankings, power rankings, playoff projections, and more.
Down goes Frazier! Week 3 was riddled with injuries. Some short term, some long. Some massive implications, some nobody cares about. Except one. Sleeper was blowing up my phone regarding Jalen McMillan updates, and I don’t have him rostered in one league. He’s expected to miss 6-8 weeks, for those concerned. Oh yeah and Jack Bech broke his forearm & we almost saw a Monday night showdown of Case Keenum and the Red Rocket Andy Dalton. Remind me why we do this again??
For injuries people ACTUALLY care about….De’Von Achane tearing his ACL out for the year, Breece Hall week to week with a quad injury, Terrance Ferguson out at least a week with an ankle injury, Justin Jefferson with an ankle sprain, Jalen Coker with a quad strain, Mike Evans with a rib injury after getting blown up (I still blame the substation). Pour one out for the homies.
We had some big performances this week, starting with the QB’s. 3 of the top 10 quarterbacks were rostered in our league this week and two were started. Cmon bruh what are we doing…
Brock Purdy led the way amongst the QBs and finished as the number two overall player. I think its fair to say, dude is legit. Shough daddy finished as the QB3 and also looks legit. That fast paced offense gives you extra plays/series every week and looks like a steal off the wire in many leagues. You had a lot of great waiver performances from Geno, Rodgers, and Case Keenum. Just as well anticipated. Big brrr (QB7), the king of 6 point TD leagues, will live in the top 10 as long as those two receivers stay healthy. Honorable mention Kirko bandzzz and THE RAIDAAS (like Chris Berman says it), the QB9 on the year, just as we ALL expected…
For the RB’s, ho-hum Gibbs with 41 as the number one overall player this week (he heard me say Bijan was better), followed by Bijan who is such a good football player, King Henry playing like it’s snowing in VT (let’s go skiing!), Jerimiyah Love finally getting the majority of touches as the RB4 on the week, Kyren as the RB5 getting a massive target share, then some other chalk guys in the top 10 like CMC, James Cook, KW9, Javonte. Warren was a bit of a surprise but being all alone as a volume play against the Bengals where they had to keep up, it checks out. It looks like he still commands this backfield, even if Dowdle comes back as probably just a change of pace. Shout out Tlaw for taking a knee and salvaging Tuten’s day with the garbage time TD, finishing as the RB11 on the week (still wasn’t QUITE enough). Honorable mention to Chuba (RB12). Chuba looks like one of the steals of the draft in the 7th round making all the Jonathan Brooks truthers look like fools (who would draft that guy???) Of course, he’s on the IR for eternity where he resides full-time.
For the WR’s ohhhh brother JSN is indeed that Njigba for the 3rd week in a row. He’s got the same amount of points as Josh Allen through three weeks and is 32 points ahead of the WR2 on the year. Sheeeshhh. Drizzy drake (WR2) finally gets a competent QB although is slower than molasses on the sideline. Garrett Wilson (WR3) looks like a great volume play every week, hopefully he’s out there this week, the WR1 for the Cardinals, Michael Wilson (WR4) looks like he is regaining his momentum from last year. Marv is dead. Chase (WR5) ho-hum I mean dudes nashty. Watson (WR6) and Golden (WR7) look like the only signs of life right now for the Packers. Golden, the WR13 on the year, looks like an absolute steal right now drafted in the 11th round. Dylan’s team is WRU. Like we ALL knew, I mean if you didn’t you don’t know football, Khalif Raymond (WR8) and the WR12 ON THE YEAR, was the guy to target for the Bears. Anyone who drafted Odunze (WR56 on the year), Burden (WR27 on the year), or Mrs. Loveland (TE48 on the year) wishes Wiz Khalifa’s production was actually the player they drafted. I mean really though, will that legitimately stick? I find it VERY hard to believe…Davante Adams (WR9) and the WR6 on the year looks like he’s still got it. Even if/when Puka comes back I think the production will still be there and not take a dip too much barring health. CD (WR10) and Mr. Tee (WR11) ho-hum these dude’s are doing what they were drafted to do, must be noice. Let’s just hope Tee can stay healthy and doesn’t go to any Boston Tea Parties anytime soon….Worth mentioning Olave (WR13) and WR4 on the year. That guardian cap is doing the trick I think. The keeper in the 8th round is panning out..
Onto the TE’s!!! The TE’s scored 21 TD’s this week. Brock is Back finishing as the TE1. As long as he is healthy, he will easily finish as a top 5 TE, health will be the only thing stopping him. Jorge Kittle is back baby finishing as the TE2!! Kittle is a MAN! If you hate Kittle, you probably believe in Satan. He’s the TE4 on the year and absolute value in the 11th round. The athletic FREAK Keyon Sadiq (TE3) burst onto the scene and only played 58% of the snaps!! Over the past few years there has always been a dominant rookie TE from Pitts, Laporta, Bowers, Fannin, maybe now Sadiq is the next rookie TE wonder. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS! Juwohnson looking like another great value as the TE4 on the week and TE3 on the year picked up off the WIYA. Fannin finally bounced back, rumor has it the masseuse is back. Keep them happy endings coming baby, voluntarily of course!! T McB (TE8) ho-hum dude is lowkey the TE1 on the year. Kelce (TE11) looks like slimming down for that wedding suit held dividends and looks back!! He only had two targets but is the TE2 on the year, another great value in the 11th round.
We’ve reached a pivotal point where the players that we drafted are who they thought they were, exceeded expectations, are a major disappointment.
Let’s talk about the disappointments and whether they are droppable…
Marv WR94 on the year, impossible call. I think he’s a drop but dude doesn’t give af. Tuff.
BTJ WR77 on the year, played 37% of the snaps and is phased out of the offense. The only hope I think like Marv is a mid-season trade? Pats maybe? Another tough call for Ryan..
Drake Maye (QB31), Ryan, I’m sorry. There MIGHT be brighter days ahead but it might be too late. I think its sort of evident that last year was the result of a soft schedule…Another really tough call…
Mrs. Loveland (WR48) on the year. I think similar to the other three, these folks are absolute landmines. Can’t drop em, can’t play them. Disastrous situation. With Caleb out for a while and the team spreading the ball around, idk if there will be brighter days..
Jadarian Price (RB48) on the year, looks like a victim of a timeshare for now. He’s a hold but off to a real slow start.
Jaylen Waddle (WR36) on the year. I think there are brighter days ahead. He’s certainly not living up to his draft price but at the end of the year will likely be a top 20 receiver.
Tetairoa McMillan (WR37) on the year. I think the sentiment is similar to Waddle. I will say that the target share has been a little concerning and Coker will be involved in the offense. However, he is an obvious hold and maybe even a buy low opportunity in some leagues.
Kyle Pitts (TE64) on the year. One of the only auto drafted picks that didn’t hit for Preston….I think he’s a drop. Maybe hold one more to see if there’s anything with Penix but I think we’ve seen this story before…droppable with a chance of regret
Malik Nabers (WR58) on the year. We knew it’d be a slow start, but this slow??? Compounded with Dart out for the year, Jameis looking washed, and 9 in the wings, this might not hit this year and looks like one of the worst picks in the draft thus far. There is the hope the talent wins out, but sometimes you cannot overcome your environment and other factors no matter how talented you are..
There are other busts and major disappointments this year but these are some of the major ones that have derailed people’s lives this year..
Onto the matchups…
Flexual Misconduct (2-1) > Smith & Wilson (1-2)
Dylan pushed a lot of the right buttons this week grabbing Purdy (QB1 - 40 points) and Minnesota DEF (DEF1 – 17 points) off the wire. Golden finishing as the WR7 on the week and Tee with the incredible catch finishing as the WR11 provided great stability. James Cook ho-hum 154 yards on the ground, kind of bizarre they don’t use him in the pass game but finishing as the RB8 will do the trick. Jeanty, McConkey, LaPorta all mid weeks but not detrimental in any capacity. Coker the biggest disappointment, albeit due to injury. He should be straight. For Steve, TLaw, CD, Tyler Warren, and Deebo all beat their projections with solid showings. Deebo is currently the WR21 on the year and being that he’s all alone, might be a great value in the 12th round for as long as he avoids the substation. Johnny T had a tough matchup against Houston, obviously nothing to worry about and the Slim Reaper was fine just no TD and crazy yardage. No cause for concern there. Only concern really is Treyvo. Not very efficient or involved in the pass game. He might be one of those guys we want to hit but just never does bc he can’t pass block, etc. Shough daddy and Michael Wilson on the pine is tough but it’s a good problem to have with great depth. Brighter days ahead for Steve. DB moves to third and faces Ryan this week in what at first glance looks lopsided. Steve moved down to 6th and faces off against OD for a potential bounce back.
Jahmyrror on the Haul (2-1) > O’Daddy’s ChatGPT Team (1-2)
Jahmyr Gibbs aka Barry Sanders. I mean idk if there is really anything to say. 41 points, the number one overall player this week. As long as he maintains this level of volume in this offense with his talent, will likely be the RB1 where he currently resides. Brock Bowers is just gross. Finishing as the TE1, he’s basically a WR1, just gotta stay healthy. Everyone else on Tim’s team sort of underperformed and didn’t hit their projections. Not really any cause for concern for any of the underperformers, outside of maybe Jalen Hurts and Kraft? The Eagles offense looks broken and so does the Packers. With Jalen’s TD upside and talent around him he should bounce back but a little cause for concern. We knew there would be a slow start with Kraft, those targets to Sky Moore should move over to Kraft in the middle part of the field but 8 targets is very healthy for a TE. Swift had a tough matchup against Philly and still had great efficiency on the ground. You’ll be AIGHT. Owen’s team was led by Jordan Love (oh the garbage man can!), Luther Burden (WR15) needed Case Keenum to break out, who knew, and Chuba as the RB9 on the year just has been steady Eddy. Achane out for the year is tuff, although a disappointing start nonetheless. Monty’s efficiency I think is a cause for concern & Likely without Dart might not be as productive as Dart seemed to have a connection with him. Kamara could have some nice short to mid term value with the Etienne Jr. injury but definitely as explosive as back in the day. Houston Defense is nasty, crazy they are 0-3. Hopefully Tyreek can save this team and Nico comes back soon. Owen stays in 7th facing Steve and Tim moves up to 4th playing Slim Pickens this week, get the popcorn ready for that one!
Allen the Hips (3-0) > The Rise of Rome (2-1)
The juggernaut strikes again…Carried by the QB1 on the year in Allen, the RB4 on the year in Henry, the WR1 on the year in JSN, the WR4 on the year in Olave, and the WR6 on the year in Davante Adams. Yep…gonna be tough to beat this team this year. He also has Warren on the pine who finished as the RB7 on the week, ho-hum…Breece injury shouldn’t slow this team down but might force the man to make a waiver move..we shall see!! The Rise of Rome or similarities to the Roman Empire??? Some studs were KW9, Chase, and T McB. The RB2, the WR8 and TE1 on the year. Not too shabby. Patty Mahomes looks back??? Currently the QB5 on the year. Looks like we will continue to see this dynasty continue..we talked about Waddle, I think there are brighter days ahead. The Broncos offense found a spark in the second half. Rhamondre’s ceiling might be limited with Treyvo but offers a decent floor, although the Pats offense looks problematic and there may not be as many RedZone opportunities. Rome and Jadarian are concerning… Price the RB48 on the year as a committee back and Rome currently the WR56. I think its safe to say the Bears offense spreads the ball around so there might be spike weeks but consistency may be a problem. With Price, he might get the KW3 treatment and be part of a 3 part committee where the Holani hive is buzzin. Kittle on the pine with 26 is tough but is currently the TE4. You are TE RICH my guy! Mitch moves down to 5th and plays against the Strib Club this week, bring those dolla billzz. Preston has to walk down the basement this week for a quick trip. At least there will be quality booze and a sump pump.
Slim Pickens (3-0) > Strib Club (temporarily closed for reno) (0-3)
There was no slim pickings and plenty to go around this week! Started off with a BANG with the best RB in the league with 36 points and Drizzy Drake putting up 29 and Christian Watson finishing as the WR6 on the week forcing the Strib Club to play Marvins Room early in the night. He followed it up with Big Brrr putting up 30 as the QB7 on the week and Javonte finishing as a top 10 back. Good to see him look better this week. Jorge Pickens hasn’t had the massive game but brighter days should be ahead and 15 points is a nice baseline. Mark Andrews looks toast and Bucky had a tough matchup against Minnesota I think he’ll be fine. Maybe just a rough patch while Baker is out. Evans getting sub stationed was bound to happen but Downs with 11 targets is a positive sign and will be a great depth piece/flex play moving forward. The Strib Club putting up 150 in a loss brings up the conversation of median scoring. Nick has the third highest scored points in the league and is 9th. With median scoring, it’d be a different story. Many solid performances all around. Dak one of the other kings of 6 point passing td, the sub station is not undefeated with Christian. He’s still kicking it as a top 10 back. Garrett Wilson is indeed a target sponge. Putting up 27 and currently the WR7 on the year. He will be a great volume play the rest of the way. Juwanson took out his Johnson with Shough daddy and is lowkey the TE3 off the wire. Kyren Williams ho-hum, the clear RB1 on the team and the RB10 on the year. Could benefit from no Puka and get more targets. Parker Washington is Himothy. Note to self, pay attention to the flying V in the preseason, those pics matter. This man destroyed BTJ and Travis Hunter’s life. Currently the WR10 on the year and will likely float around there the rest of the way..DJ Moore with 10 targets is a great sign. Bills spread the ball around so it will be annoying but you can do a lot worse at your WR3. Losing Etienne is tuff but hopefully is not long term and only a couple week injury. I think the main cause for concern is Hampton. He’s currently the RB22 on the season which isn’t disastrous but not what you drafted him to be. 42% of snaps is sort of bizarre. Chargers are broken and might be like 0-6 to start the year and fire Mike McDaniel. Something to monitor. Anthony moves up to second facing Tim in an exciting matchup and Nick moves to 9th facing Mitch would should also be entertaining. Are you not entertained???
Boston Mayessacre (1-2) > Super Bowl Hangover (0-3)
This matchup was trash vs garbage. Ryans garbage was like those nice garbage cans you see in wealthy neighborhoods, mine was the one’s in the ghetto with no top and a broken handle you have to drag across the asphalt. Lets see what we can talk about here…Jerimiyah Love (RB4) finished as a top 5 back and finally got the backfield to his own. If Cardinals were smart, they would leave it that way. Fannin finished as the TE5 and perhaps might be revived by the masseuse. Aaron Jones saw over 20 touches and turned into a solid day against Tampa. Had he got a TD he would have smashed. Egbuka had a solid floor week but is currently the WR31 on the year. With Baker out it might be a rough stretch but hopefully they can find their connection again that they had during the first half of last year? Judkins had a decent floor with around 10 points and only played 51% of the snaps. It doesn’t look like they really want to use him in the passing game and with them trailing a lot this year, he might need a TD to salvage a lot of days. Saquon Barkley is currently the RB33. He is averaging over 5 YPC yet they aren’t really feeding him. The Eagles offense is broken. They need to get him more involved both in the pass and run game. Maye Day Maye Day the ship is sinking….Idk what to say. I think there was a really soft schedule this year and ever since the playoffs he’s been a turnover machine. Several bonehead endzone picks and loose with the ball…idk it’s a tough call but as the QB31, he’s borderline droppable..BTJ and Marv, RIP. You need Puka back from this bizarre hiatus. &&& then there was the Super Bowl Hangover. HAHA yeahhh. The ghetto garbage can, ya know what I mean? The scented garbage bag was Tuten finishing as a top 12 back thanks to a garbage time TD. LJax is fine, he doesn’t really run as often as he used to…for a 5th round qb I rather have Shough or Purdy from the wire….the sun god took the week off im not worried about him….Corum is not the 1b he is the 2a, Nabers might be one of the biggest busts thus far…Jefferson is the WR14 on the year but it was really just one big spike week and the rest have been trash…DK Midcalf got saved by a TD or else he’d have 6 points. If you need 6 points, HE’S YOUR GUY! GB showed out with the -2 making Penix look like Vick. The team is a disaster, Loveland couldn’t even get it done with Keenum, I will never give up but I mean a human being can only take so much before…….Super Bowl Hangover moves to the basement where he will be residing for the foreseeable future and gets a first place visitor for a short quick stay, please make it quick, and Ryan moves up to 8th and plays against DB this week, but hey at least you are the nice garbage can!
