Week 3 Recap
Your commish is back with your typical weekly recap that I like to call your toilet read.
8 players have finished in the top 12 in their position every week this year: JSN, Gibbs, Ken Walker, Derrick Henry, Chuba, Trey McBride, Brock Purdy, Tyler Shough — who’s the most shocking player here? For me it’s Chuba but Shough has a good argument AVG 30 FPPG
Some other takes I find compelling:
- How bout Kirk Cousins being your fantasy QB7 oh yeah the raiders are 3-0 too.
- Drake Maye regression has been unbelievable
- Christian Watson top5 WR
- Bryce Young passing yards leader
- Darren Waller still being relevant

Matchup Deep Dives
DB (2-1) > Steve (1-2)
I beat Steve 155-122. Steve beat me in dynasty but “we both know we care more about MMT!”Pretty easy dub here with me winning most of the positional battles outside of TE and 1 flex spot. Big Cock Brock Purdy drops 40 points, QB1. Matthew Golden’s 22 was good enough for WR7, Tee Higgins 21 WR8, James Cook churns out another top10 performance, and the pick-up of the week, Minnesota 17, DEF1. It wasn’t all bad for Smith and Wilson except when you look at all those points on your bench. Wouldn’t have been enough but you like to be an efficient GM. Trevor Lawrence looks good, Ceedee still very obviously the #1 option in Dallas, Deebo had the most yards in NFL history without a catch isn’t that cool now but cost you a point ;)
Ant (3-0) > Nick (0-3)
Anthony stays undefeated with a narrow win 166 -151. This was the only close matchup in the league this week. I’m sorry Nick but it’s another tough loss and that’s back-to-back weeks facing the top scorer. The 151.64 points would have beaten 7 other teams this week. Slim Pickens did most of the damage of Thursday Night with Bijan’s 36 RB2, Drake London’s 29 WR2, and Watson’s 22 WR6. The Strib Club gave it all they had. 5 roster spots put up 21+ points. The biggest difference maker in this matchup was the RB battle, Slim Pickens +28. So there you have it, Anthony finds himself under the radar at 3-0 and Nick, very publicly, is still searching for the first dub.
Ryan (1-2) > Matt (0-3)
In this weeks snoozefest Ryan gets a better sleep score 106-85. Lamar Jackson and Harold Fannin 24 PTS tied for the highest scoring players in this matchup. Jeremiyah Love (22) enters the chat with a top 3 finish. There’s not much else going in folks, Tuten puts up a respectable 17 PTS, you could think TLaw for that gift of a TD. Just 5 total TDs combined in this matchup which just to put into perspective..Preston had more tuds from just 3 players…more on that later. Either way a wins a win and Ryan will try and take that momentum into next week vs yours truly and Mo will look to get in the win column vs that guy I just mentioned who has 3 juggernauts.
Tim (2-1) > OD (1-2)
Tim hands Owen his 2nd consecutive loss by a score of 129-94. Jahmyr Gibbs. That is all. 3 straight top 3 finishes. 463 scrimmage yards and 6 TDs. An absurd pace. Brock Bowers welcome back to fantasy relevance with his first TopTE finish since Wk13 last year.Owen had another forgettable week with FIVE guys scoring less than SEVEN points. Oof. Really only Luther Burden had a good outing this week. Guy was all over the field on Monday Night. The real story here is your fantasy team lost its best asset to an ACL tear. With the way this team looks and your comments regarding dues im really starting to worry this may be your farewell tour. Please don’t let that be true.
Preston (3-0) > Mitch (2-1)
Preston wins again. This time with a normal score. 155 beats Mitchell’s 123. Petition to change your name back to Show Me Your TDs (the featured image was for you). Can Josh Allen stop? Three straight weeks with multiple rushing scores to open the year. JSN is otherworldly. 400 yards and 6 TDs. King Henry also had 6 TDs. That’s 18 TDs from 3 guys. That is more than any other team combined. Let that sink in.. Preston has 3 players that have more combined touchdowns than all of our teams. *disclaimer Steve’s team has 20 tds but for the sake of this cherry picked, mind boggling stat I won’t count your TDs from JCM, Tank, and Tre*. So yeah that’s pretty crazy but regression is coming!!! Right?? Alright anyway so Mitch’s big 3 of K9, Chase, and McBride did all they could combining for more than 50% of your teams total but it wasn’t enough. Mitch drops to 2-1, Preston stays undefeated.
